The Directorate of Human Resources signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education - Higher Education Affairs, on Sunday 05/05/2019, at the headquarters of the Directorate in Al-Liya. The aim of this MOU is to enhance common cooperation in the field of management and follow-up of the students’ affairs, employees of the government of Sharjah who were sent on a scholarship outside the State to complete their higher education through the Cultural Attachés Offices of the Ministry abroad, starting from their enrolment in the educational programme up until obtaining the degree.
The MOU was signed by HE Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources, and HE Dr. Hamad Karam Al Kaabi, Director of the Scholarships Department.
The signing of the MOU was attended by HE Abdullah Salem Al Mashawi, Director of the Directorate of Human Resources, Hamid Mohammed Al Owais, Head of Legal Consultancy Section, Fatima Ahmed Al Mehrazi, Legal Counsel, from the Directorate of Human Resources, and by Dr. Faisal Al Ali, Expert of the Scholarships Department at the Ministry of Education - Higher Education Affairs.
HE Dr. Tariq Bin Khadim explained that this cooperation falls within the vision and mission set by HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, which considers education as a beacon of society and that raising the level of education develops the individuals’ skills and capacities. He praised the continuous directives of His Highness in building leaders who make the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE proud of their knowledge and expertise.
He underlined the keenness of the government of Sharjah to provide opportunities and offer all types of support and facilities to its employees to pursue their higher education and acquire knowledge and modern skills that contribute to raising the level of performance and productivity.
For his part, HE Dr. Hamad Karam Al Kaabi, Director of the Scholarships Department, stated that he was pleased with the signing of the MOU with the Directorate of Human Resources and said: “We are happy to sign agreements that support the educational and professional path of the students and employees, enabling them to complete their higher education in order to meet the requirements of the knowledge community”.
